And what can we say? The island enchanted us once again. Between idyllic beaches and a wealth of unforgettable experiences, this trip was a kaleidoscope of colors and impressions. What was particularly exciting was that we were able to get to know two fantastic honeymoon resorts. To experience Mauritius in all its diversity, we decided to spend the first half of our stay in the picturesque north - in the breathtaking Beachcomber Trou Aux Biches. The second half took us to the south, where we explored the exclusively located Beachcomber Dinarobin.

Both resorts are real dream destinations for an unforgettable honeymoon in Mauritius. And no, this is not empty marketing talk – we have tested it!

Beachcomber Trou Aux Biches: A Paradise in the Northwest

The 5-star Beachcomber Trou Aux Biches Golf Resort & Spa is located in the northwest of the island in the village of the same name, “Trou Aux Biches,” and is about 65 km from Mauritius Airport. This corresponds to a drive of about 1 hour and 15 minutes. With a site of more than 35 hectares, Trou Aux Biches is a small village within a village and, due to its location, offers one of the most beautiful sunsets that can be experienced in Mauritius.

As soon as we arrived at the Beachcomber Trou Aux Biches, we were impressed by the architecture and the facilities. The architecture, the view of the sea and the sunsets here are simply a dream.

Rooms at Trou Aux Biches

We stayed in a spacious 63 m² junior suite. We were particularly impressed by the view of the tropical gardens, where birds woke us up with their singing. That sounds cheesy? Maybe. But hey, is there a nicer alarm clock? From the Tropical Junior Suite to the exclusive Beachfront Senior Suite with pool - the rooms in the resort offer a whole range of options. And if you really want to pamper yourself, you can treat yourself to a villa. Private pools included.

Culinary Delights

With six restaurants, the Beachcomber Trou Aux Biches is a true feast for the senses. From breakfast at L'Oasis with sea views to culinary experiences in the à la carte restaurants - everything is on offer here.

In terms of cuisine, the Beachcomber Trou Aux Biches stands out with an incredible 6 restaurants. Four of the six restaurants are located in the center of the resort near the main pool and two more are right on the beach. We were absolutely thrilled with the quality of the food, the restaurants work at the highest level and cover various culinary styles:

• L'Oasis: The resort's main restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet style, offers a unique view of the sea and is beautifully surrounded by small waterways.
• Blue Ginger: A la carte restaurant. Asian fusion cuisine from Thailand to Japan via China. The Blue Ginger is located right next to the Mahiya and surrounded by water.
• Mahiya: A la carte restaurant. Indian cuisine. The chef comes from northern India and offers dishes from his homeland. You feel like you are in a temple from a story from 1001 Nights.
• La Plage: A la carte restaurant for lunch and dinner. Seafood and local dishes. Located right on the beach, La Plage is the perfect location for a sunset dinner with sand between your toes.
• Il Corallo: A la carte. Mediterranean cuisine. Every evening, head chef Giovanni conjures up Italian cuisine of the highest quality. The very well-stocked wine cellar with a very good selection of wines is located directly at Il Corallo.
• La Caravelle: Fine Dining Restaurant, A la Carte. Creole cuisine reflecting the history of Mauritius, with influences from Indian, Chinese and Western cuisine. Chef Neeloo reinterprets Mauritian cuisine, combining traditional elements with new, innovative approaches.

If you book your holiday with half or full board, you can eat in all of the restaurants. In addition to the 6 restaurants, there are also two wonderful bars: the L'Oasis Bar right in the center and the La Caravelle Bar near the beach.

A great experience that we were able to enjoy on the first evening was a wine tasting conducted by the wine sommelier, who presented us with various wines from South Africa and Mauritius. The tasting was an absolute highlight and we added several wines to our wine list.

On the second evening, we took part in an exclusive, private sunset cruise, where we sailed along the coast of Trou Aux Biches towards Grand Baie and enjoyed the breathtaking sunset from the sea - accompanied by delicious canapés and sparkling champagne.

We spent the second half of our stay in Mauritius in the south of the island at the Beachcomber Dinarobin. The 5-star resort is located right next to what is probably the most famous landmark in Mauritius: Le Morne Brabant, a 556-meter-high mountain that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2008.

After our hike on Le Morne, we checked into the Beachcomber Dinarobin and were warmly welcomed by the hotel team. The view that you can enjoy here is definitely one of the most impressive we have ever seen. When the evening sun bathes Le Morne in golden light, a spectacular play of light is created.

The “Croissants” of Dinarobin – Rooms & Suites at Dinarobin

During our stay at Dinarobin, we stayed in a 65 m² Zen Suite. This is located in a private area of ​​the resort that is reserved for adults and is therefore particularly suitable for those seeking peace and quiet. We had a fantastic view of the resort's tropical garden and towards the sea. If you want to stay right on the beach, you should choose the Zen Suite Beachfront. The only thing that can be improved is the 115 m² Zen Senior Suite Beachfront, which is just a stone's throw from the beach.

The suites at Dinarobin are cleverly arranged in the shape of croissants, and each of these “croissants” has its own private pool area and stunning views of Le Morne.

Culinary experiences at Dinarobin

The Beachcomber Dinarobin boasts four outstanding restaurants - perfect for your honeymoon in Mauritius. On the first evening we were able to dine at Umami, an à la carte restaurant that specializes in Japanese fusion cuisine. We were treated to several courses and were impressed not only by the quality of the food, but also by the artistic presentation. The passionate restaurant manager led us through the evening and explained each dish with so much enthusiasm that we became even more hungry for the sophisticated courses.

L'harmonie: A buffet in a class of its own

The main restaurant at Dinarobin is called L'harmonie - breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here. L'harmonie offers a very extensive buffet that leaves nothing to be desired. Every evening there is a different themed buffet and on our second evening we were able to enjoy the finest Italian cuisine.

Dina's: Healthy, local cuisine at the highest level

Dina's Restaurant serves the finest local cuisine, focusing on natural and healthy products, with no artificial additives. A perfect place to enjoy authentic Mauritian dishes.

Le Morne Plage: Fresh seafood right on the beach

Le Morne Plage is the fourth restaurant and is located directly on the beach. It serves light fish and seafood dishes in a relaxed atmosphere - ideal for ending the day with fresh seafood and the sound of the waves.

Two bars for the perfect sundowner

There are also two bars where you can end the evening perfectly. We particularly liked the Mahogany Bar - the decor is simply great and very stylish. Here you can enjoy the beautiful sunset with a cocktail. The Butik Bar is right on the beach and is open from morning to evening, perfect for cocktails and small snacks.

Spa & Wellness: Peace in Perfection
