Portugal – From Porto to the Algarve

I have a very special relationship with Portugal. Because in Porto is the idea for my travel blog Petit Chapeau developed. Porto is such a city that I could also imagine living in for a while. Why? You can find out in my blog article about my first trip to Portugal and how Porto enchanted me right away. But I was also impressed by the Algarve with its bizarre rock formations and relaxed surfer culture. Once to the end of Europe and back again? This is possible in Sagres on Cabo de Sao Vincente, the most south-western point of Europe. If you like, you can eat the last bratwurst before America.

Finally feeling sand under your feet again, getting a light sunburn on your nose and looking at the sea for hours. Is there anything nicer? I spent a week at Karma Surf Retreat in Figueira do Guincho. A week full of relaxation, sunsets, incredibly good food, wonderful people and breathtaking nature.

Porto in December - a trip to the pearl of the Atlantic

If Lisbon and Barcelona had a baby, this would be the city: Porto. We traveled to Porto in winter and were immediately captivated by the sunny street cafes, the colorful facades, and the vibrant rhythm of the Douro River. From the very first steps, alleyways full of surprises opened up, and little details and stories awaited us around every corner, inviting us to explore the city piece by piece.
